Vincent Omata's History

Since he was a kid, Vincent Omata aspired to be an artist. However, he faced several hardships along the way. He had an art professor who wouldn't waste any chance to demean him and a father who didn't understand his passion, as he wanted to put Vincent back in a normal school. He managed to get a girlfriend, although she left him after 6 years because of his own ego. In the present day, those traumatic experiences would manifest as demons, always holding him back and preventing him from achieving his fullest potential.

Whilst he did get a job, it wasn't what used to dream as a child. He was in charge of painting the gates of Arkham Asylum, but he got fired since he took too much time with his "art". After drinking his sorrows away, he unknowingly met with Death. She gave him her top hat and tried to cheer him up before resuming with her work. Vincent's demons prevented him from feeling any sort of happiness from the moment. He went back home and after being bombarded with bad memories, died from an overdose while sleeping.

Vincent re-encountered Death on the street. He invited her to his apartment to show his work. He asked her if he could paint a portrait of her. She gladly accepted it. As he worked, Vincent began to experience flashbacks of his life, and began to turn away from his pain, finally silencing his inner demons once and for all. When he concluded, Vincent looked upon the portrait and realized his entire life had led up to this moment. The art work of a lifetime. As he looked to the window, time stopped. Death showed him his dead body at the couch, with the ashes of his cigar falling to the floor. His whole apartment burned to the ground, except for the painting. Her final gift to Vincent as she took him to the afterlife.
