Ghalta

Ghalta's History

Ghalta is an ancient elder dinosaur from Ixalan.

The opening of the golden city revealed the enormous elder dinosaurs, which were held in stasis during Orazca's long hibernation in the earth. Each of these monsters embodies one aspect of the magic of the land: the giant tyrant Ghalta is a manifestation of green mana and the consuming hunger of nature.

During the War of the Spark, Huatli was able to summon Ghalta to aid her in the fight against the Dreadhorde on Ravnica. At the conclusion, he returned to Ixalan.

During New Phyrexia's Invasion of the Multiverse, Ghalta was called on (along with the other Elder Dinosaurs) to fight the invasion of Ixalan. Ghalta initially confronted and defeated a series of Phyrexian colossi around Orazca, but was unable to confront the compleated Etali. With the arrival of Zacama to the battlefield, the Phyrexians were routed around the Golden City.

After the battle around Orazca, Mavren Fein rode Ghalta into battle against the Phyrexians in defense of Ixalan.
