Bleeding Phoenix's History

The Bleeding Phoenix, like the other Dreadgods, was the result of research and experimentation conducted in the Labyrinth beneath Sacred Valley, some millennia ago. The researchers attempted to address the problem of hunger aura. It was originally an unremarkable Dreadbeast when it was infused with hunger aura, but it unexpectedly and quickly grew far beyond expectations. It eventually escaped confinement and entered the outside world, and is now driven by the urge to feed and to come back to the Labyrinth, the place of its birth.

The Bleeding Phoenix's signature ability is its ability to conjure bloodspawn, formed out of the blood of sacred artists, and blood shadows, which attach to sacred artists to either empower or enslave them. It was the first of the Dreadgods to awaken in the series, and battled Akura Malice to a standstill before being driven off. Later, it battled Northstrider and Akura Malice near Sacred Valley after its destruction by the Wandering Titan.

Upon the destruction of the Slumbering Wraith, Silent King, and Weeping Dragon, the Bleeding Phoenix's power and intelligence skyrocketed. It, along with Reigan Shen and the Wandering Titan, confronted Wei Shi Lindon, who had similarly absorbed the fallen Dreadgods' power. The Bleeding Phoenix offered Lindon a path to dominate the world alongside the other Dreadgods, but he refused and attacked. The Bleeding Phoenix and Wandering Titan were eventually killed in a joint effort from Lindon and his team of newly advanced Monarchs. Its core binding was used to make Yerin a new sword.
