White Phoenix's powers and abilities
Emma Frost possesses telepathic abilities of a similar caliber to those of Charles Xavier, over which she had an extremely refined level of skill. Frost has been cited as a "World-class telepath" and "Omega Class Telepath". Additionally, she has also been referred to as being among the five telepaths on the planet capable of perfectly and seamlessly altering a mind, has demonstrated the ability to stalemate Exodus, and overcome telepaths, such as a young Nate Grey and a young Rachel Summers, through greater experience and skill.
When Wolverine was thought to be protected from her thanks to Level 9 Psi-Shields created by Charles Xavier, she stated she was herself Level 10. Her abilities have been stated to rival that of Charles Xavier himself and this statement was proven in her telepathic defeat of the Professor.
Telepathy: Emma has displayed the telepathic standards of broadcasting and receiving thoughts, mind-control, altering perceptions and memories, projection of offensive blasts of Psionic energy causing mental pain or unconsciousness, astral projection, and brain engram modification.
Psionic Shield: Emma can erect a psychic shield for protection of herself and other minds. She is immune or highly resistant to any/all mental intrusion, including psychic or empathic powers, hypnosis, illusions, deception, etc.
Psionic Shields Removal: She stated she could easily take Wolverine's Level 9 Psi-Shields down, though their removal could leave Wolverine as the equivalent of a three-year-old child. In addition to that, Emma can use her telepathy through mutant scanning devices' detection beams such as Sentinels, bypassing the devices' shielding to affect their operators.
Telepathic and Mind Cloaking: Emma can telepathically mask her presence and the use of her abilities from being detected by other mutants and psychic entities. These defenses can be extended to others around her as well. Cloaking via telepathy is not perfect and powerful telepathic mutants may notice and 'see' through this ability. She also has the ability to rearrange the mental engrams of mutants so her distinctive mutant thought patterns cannot be detected by Cerebro-type devises or by other telepaths.
Telepathic Illusions: Emma can create realistic telepathic illusions and cause people to experience events which are not actually occurring. These illusions can also be used to help others fight against pain or simply surround them with more pleasant environments.
Absorb Information: Emma can quickly process and store information, by mental transference.
Download Information: Emma can place large amounts of information in another person's mind.
Astral Projection: Emma can project one's astral form from their body onto astral planes or the physical planes. In the physical plane, one can travel in astral form over vast distances.
Power Inhibition: Emma can place "psychic inhibitors" in the minds of her adversaries to prevent them from using their powers.
Pain Inducement: Emma can induce mental pain telepathically.
Heal Trauma: Emma can erase a person’s memories and heal mental trauma through "psychic surgery", the power to stimulate or deaden the pain and pleasure centers in a person's brain.
Intuitive Multilingualism: Emma can intuitively translate and understand any language.
Mind Control: The ability to control the thoughts and actions of others.
Mind Link: Emma can develop a mental link with one person or a number of people.
Mental Paralysis: Emma can induce temporary mental or physical paralysis.
Mental Sedation: Emma can telepathically "sedate" her victims so that, if already rendered unconscious, they remain so for as long as she continues to "sedate" them.
Mind Alteration: Emma can alter the minds of others by force of will, changing their personality partially or entirely. This can also be used to implant subconscious thoughts like unexplained aversion to certain words or ideas.
Mental Amnesia: Emma can cause loss of particular memories or total amnesia in another person or group of people.
Telepathic Detection: Emma can sense the presence of another person, mutant or not, within a small but as yet undefined radius of oneself by perceiving the distinctive mental radiations emitted by such a being.
Telepathic Tracking: Enhanced Psionic senses enable Emma to track other sentient beings by their unique Psionic emanations.
Psionic Blasts: Emma can project Psionic force bolts or blast waves which can do damage on either a physical or mental level and which can affect a victim's mind so as to cause the victim pain or unconsciousness. Emma has been shown to use this ability as a reflexive response to a physical attack, resulting in the aggressor being thrown across the room.
Psionic Lightning: Emma can channel the ambient Psionic energy in the air through a target having a physical effect. She used this ability once against M, knocking her out.
Telekinesis: Emma was also stated to be a potential telekinetic. Emma unintentionally levitated some utensils while facing a nightmare.
Secondary Mutation:
Organic Diamond Form: As a result of undergoing a body-wide Secondary Mutation, Frost possesses the ability to transform her body into a flexible organic diamond form. In many ways, this is similar to Colossus' organic steel form. She must transform all parts of her body, rather than selectively transforming certain areas and can remain in this form for an undetermined amount of time. If she is rendered unconscious, Frost's body will automatically transform into its normal state. This transformation also alters Frost's personality, causing her to become rather cold-hearted and to lose her empathy for others. Emma does not have access to her telepathy while in her diamond form.
Superhuman Strength: In her diamond form, Frost's physical strength is increased to superhuman levels. At her peak, she is able to lift approximately 2 tons.
Superhuman Stamina: While transformed, her muscles produce almost no fatigue toxins during physical activity, granting her almost limitless superhuman stamina, or at least until or unless she is forced to resume her normal state.
Superhuman Durability: Frost's diamond form renders her highly resistant to most forms of physical injury. She is able to resist great impact forces, such as being repeatedly struck with superhuman force, without being injured. She has withstood being zapped by Young Cyclops' optic blast, blows from Hulk, and blasts from the Dreaming Celestial. Despite the Celestial's blast breaking her arm off, this showed an incredibly powerful upper limit to Emma's powers, as a Juggernaut powered Colossus was hit by the same blast and was sent flying across the city with a hole through his chest. Her body is also resistant to temperature extremes, able to withstand temperatures as cold as -390 degrees Fahrenheit or as hot as approximately 7362 degrees Fahrenheit before her form begins to melt. Frost is also self-sustained while transformed, requiring no food or water.
Psychic Immunity: Emma has shown to be immune to other telepathic powers in her diamond form, but in turn, she is unable to use her own telepathic powers until she turns back.
Phoenix Force Powers: The Phoenix Force is one of the most powerful beings in the Marvel Universe, possessing the unlimited power to create and destroy anything and everything. It has been stated to be an Extinction-Level Threat and an Omega-Level Threat. While how the Phoenix Force works is not clear, it seems to amplify existing emotions. As the emotions grow, the host's perspective grows infinite. Individual feelings like joy, grief, and love for another become insignificant. The memory of even incredibly traumatic events fades.
Nigh Omnipotence: The Phoenix Force is practically omnipotent, however it is limited in undetermined and undefined ways as seems to suit its current mission/purpose.
Future Life-Force Tap: The Phoenix Force can tap into the energy provided by life-force reserved for future generations, thus denying them existence. The Phoenix Force possesses limitless cosmic energy. With or without a host, it is one of the most powerful entities in the Marvel Universe, capable of existing in any plane, time-line or dimensional existence.
Concussive Force Blasts: It can wield this energy to project beams of immense concussive force powerful enough to destroy whole planetary bodies.
Quantum Singularity: It can transmigrate throughout time and space by folding its energy back into itself, causing it to collapse akin to a black hole. It then reforms itself upon reaching its destination, much like the Phoenix of ancient myths.
Energy Absorption: It can directly absorb, manipulate, and fully control any type of energy such as the entire energy of a star, black hole, or even a whole galaxy.
Life-Force Control: The Phoenix Force can control and manipulate life and death itself, as such, it can take the "life energy" from something, rendering it "dead" or vice versa.
Psionic Nexus: As the nexus or center of all psionic energy throughout the cosmos, the host attains nigh-infinitely powerful mental abilities, including telepathy, empathy, and telekinesis, and often seeks out hosts who have psionic abilities (i.e. Nate Grey, Jean Grey, The White Queen, and The Cuckoos). When bonded with a host, the Phoenix Force vastly strengthens and amplifies all of their superhuman mutant powers and abilities to immeasurable and innumerable power levels that have been shown to be near unlimited such as the Phoenix's one-true host.
Matter Transmutation: It can manipulate and transmute matter on a subatomic level (e.g., turning wood to gold, stone to crystal, cause physical bodies to disintegrate, convert Homo mermanus to Homo superior, etc).
Cosmic Teleportation: It can teleport others across vast distances such as another planet or galaxy, and the vast vacuum of space itself or even an entire timeline all-together.
Disintegration Waves: It can consume and remove a near infinite amount of molecules per second.
Resurrection Force: It can resurrect anyone it wishes with its near infinite powers, as it is the embodiment of life and death itself. It could also bring itself back as well as its host.
Immortality: The Phoenix Force is immortal and indestructible. It cannot die or be destroyed. After its "death" it was thought to be destroyed, but, as it has happened many times, the entity never truly died. It forms itself in a cosmic egg in the White Hot Room and stays in there until it is ready to come out. Some hosts get true immortality, but others get it from never aging or needing food, water, and oxygen to breath and, if they were killed, the Phoenix Force would bring him or her back to life.
Cosmic Pyrokinesis: It can create 'cosmic' flames under any conditions even the impossible ones such as vacuum space or underwater. These flames do not require oxygen to burn, and burn so intensely that matter is consumed without by-products such as ash. It has perfect control over these flames, and they only consume what it wills. These flames are shown to be able to burn even underwater. Typically they manifest as a raptor or part of a raptor such as a claw or wings, in the case of an avatar. It is unclear whether these flames are an extension of its powerful psionic abilities or a literal punctuation to its purpose to 'burn away what doesn't work.'
Temporal Manipulation: The Phoenix Force can manipulate the past, present, and future across large temporal distances and with a profound knowledge of the causal effect her actions will have. It may be the case that time as a concept doesn't apply to the White Hot Room. It has only been shown when Jean Grey as the White Phoenix of The Crown held her universe in the palm of her hands, possessing the infinite power to write what she would as the "One True Phoenix" in any timeline, using to save her timeline from becoming a horrible future, altering the memories of everyone in reality itself in the process.
Atmokinesis: The Phoenix Force is capable of manipulating and creating cosmic weather. It can create cosmic storms, solar flares, geomagnetic storms, cosmic rays, coronal mass ejection and black holes.
Existence Mastery: It possesses total control over the entire existence as shown by The White Phoenix of the Crown (c.f. The White Hot Room). It can warp the reality, bring anything into existence, freely manipulate all existing things, and return them to nothingness when their purpose is extinguished.
Its immeasurable cosmic powers and abilities appear to be at their strongest and most powerful when bonded to Jean Grey ("the One-True Phoenix" who is completely compatible with the entity, possessing incredibly strong and powerful levels of telepathic, empathic, and telekinetic godhood status abilities, complete control and manipulation over the realms of matter, energy, space, time, existence and thought), as the two have a strange, profound connection to each other (Jean is the closest thing the Force has to physical form as “their souls were cut from the same cloth”). It has yet to explain how Jean is "the true phoenix" and why, however, it has been theorized that the Phoenix is the true manifestation of Jean Grey’s psychic abilities.
Like Jean Grey, the Phoenix used telepathy and telekinesis, but at a much, much greater limitless power levels (unlimited as White Phoenix of the Crown). She was able to rearrange the molecular structure of matter and fly at high hyper-sonic speeds while inside a planetary body. Using the Phoenix Force, she could travel through hyperspace and destroy Shi'ar battle cruisers with little effort.
Abilities:
Expert Technician: Emma Frost is highly skilled in electronic theory and electronics and has learned how to build devices that can amplify psionic energy and utilize psionic energy for various effects. She devised the mechanism by which Mastermind projected his illusions directly into the mind of the Phoenix Force.
Defense Training: Emma Frost is an above-average athlete and has had some training in hand-to-hand combat. During a training session in which Emma did not have access to her powers, Banshee attempted to make an example of her. Emma quickly, efficiently, and easily dispatched Banshee, much to his embarrassment.
Master Astral Combatant: Emma Frost is trained and excels in astral combat.
Pilot: Emma Frost has been seen piloting a helicopter without trouble.
Emma Frost knows some CPR techniques, but is not a doctor.
White Phoenix's weaknesses
While in her diamond form, Frost is unable to access her telepathic abilities.
Familial Immunity: As seen during her various attempts to enter Adrienne's mind, Emma's telepathic powers are unable to read or affect her sister's mind. Her other siblings, Cordelia and Christian, were possible to read at first, but have since become "intangible" as well, possibly because of the emergence of their mutant abilities. Adrienne and Cordelia, in particular, would take advantage of this ability during their plots to manipulate/kill Emma.
