Ultraman Ribut's History
Ultraman Ribut is an Ultra Warrior from the Land of Light. He was created by the joint collaboration between Les' Copaque Productions, the creators of Upin and Ipin, and Tsuburaya Productions. Ribut first appeared in episodes 25 to 27 in the 8th season and episodes 28 to 30 in the 9th season of Upin and Ipin and made his first canon on-screen appearance in Ultra Galaxy Fight: New Generation Heroes. Since then, he reappeared in the followup to New Generation Heroes, Ultra Galaxy Fight: The Absolute Conspiracy where he plays a prominent role in the first and third parts of the miniseries, Ultra Galaxy Fight: The Destined Crossroad and Ultraman Trigger: New Generation Tiga, where he co-stars as a returning Ultra as part of a 2-part crossover with The Destined Crossroad.
In the past, Ribut worked with Ultraman Max as a Civilization Guardian. They went to Planet Mikarito to investigate the planet's abnormal aging. While exploring the planet's caverns, the two Ultras discovered a Maga-Soul, the egg of a Maga-Orochi, a monster from the Monster Galaxy which was the source of Mikarito's ailing health. To make matters worse, a Hellberus emerged, and began attacking Max and Ribut, forcing the two Ultras into a battle, though the duo had the upper hand. Ribut was able to restrain Hellberus with his Strong Net, when Alien Sran suddenly appeared and attacked, easily having the advantage in speed and overpowering Ribut, then Max, infecting him with Gudis Cells. With Max weakened, the Maga-Orochi egg's tendrils grabbed hold of him. In his last words before passing out, Max urged Ribut to flee, and he did, arriving back at the Land of Light to report to Zoffy, Ultraman Taro and Ultraman Hikari on what he had witnessed. There, he met his childhood friend, Sora, who had coincidentally returned to the Land of Light at the exact same time with 80 and Yullian after 80 managed to briefly force Leugocyte into hiding. After informing the Ultras of Max's grave condition, Ribut was instructed by Ultraman Taro to head to Planet K76, a planet used as a training ground. When he arrived, he found that Ultraman Great and Ultraman Powered were there, ready to help train Ribut, so that in three days an expedition to Mikarito to rescue Max could begin.
Ribut's training session with Great and Powered immediately began, with the two not holding back against him. They advised him to look into himself and unleash his latent power, which Ribut managed to do, and catch the both of them by surprise. Seeing his training completed, Great and Powered granted Ribut the Ribut Blocker and Spreader Rod respectively, saying that he should be able to use them effectively now. With that, Ribut returned to the Land of Light to receive the Gudis antidote from Sora, traveling back to Planet Mikarito to rescue Max, who had already been partially mutated and seemingly brainwashed by his infection, rendering the Ultra berserk. Running straight for Max, Ribut managed to hold him back so he could inject the antidote, returning Max to normal but in a weakened state. Despite curing him, the Maga-Soul still hatched, now empowered by the Gudis cells in the area, though the progression of its accelerated growth had only gone so far as its base form. Max soon had his energy restored via the Max Galaxy, so together with him and the recently arrived Xenon, Ribut fought against the Lord Monster, eventually managing to defeat the beast.
Ribut returned to the Land of Light, reuniting with and thanking Sora for her efforts in creating the antidote. Taro approached him, congratulated his efforts, and instructed him to travel to the Galaxy Rescue Force's HQ, with Sora joining him. Together they gladly accepted the offer and journeyed to the headquarters, where they were welcomed by current members Queen Izana, Andro Melos and Gukulushisa.
Ribut arrives on Planet Liquitor, rescuing a lone Ragon who was threatened by Peguila and fights against the monster before he proceeds to kill with Galaxium Blaster. After having a chat with the grateful Ragon, he received an Ultra Sign from Taro telling Ribut to help Rosso and Blu, who were being attacked by Etelgar and fell down to Planet Penol, Ribut appears and defends them with his Blocker Effect just before the brothers are hit by an energy ball. Ribut puts Etelgar in his Strong Net so that the three of them can escape. They go back to the Land of Light, and Taro gives him another mission - to find "someone". Thanks to intel from the Galaxy Rescue Force, Ribut invaded the magical space. Ribut approaches the "blue giant" and reveals he the knows his identity - Ultraman Tregear. Ribut attempts to apprehend him, but Tregear simply toys with his opponent.
After a fight, Tregear revives the fallen Ultra Dark-Killer and Ultraman Zero Darkness, the former growing to gigantic size and going berserk due to his overflowing power. Tregear leaves Ribut to fight two Red Kings, saying that he will at least do him the favor of remembering his name. Ribut engages in the fight against both Red Kings and kills them using the Remote Cutter. As the Red Kings explode behind him, he leaves the rest to the New Generation Heroes.
Ultraman Ribut and Andro Melos arrive on Planet Maijii to help the Tri-Squad fight against Zett and his army of Zettons. Together, they managed to defeat the Zetton Army while Taiga went to face Zett, forcing him to retreat after firing the Aurum Strium at him. Receiving a message from Taro, they all went to the Land of Light to regroup, where Ribut briefed the three of them on the situation with Absolute Tartarus.
Yullian and Ultraman 80 had crash landed on Planet Ebil on the way to a Galactic Federation Peace Conference on Planet Kanon and were soon attacked by Zett and his Zetton army. They sent a distress signal to the Land of Light. Responding to the message, Taiga, Mebius and Z immediately left the Land of Light and arrived on Planet Ebil to assist them. They were later joined by Ultraman Zero, Ultraman Joneus, Ultraman Titas, Ultraman Fuma, Ultrawoman Grigio, Ultraman Ribut and Andro Melos, and they all fought the Zetton army together.
Soon after defeating Ultimate Shining Zero in Narak, Absolute Tartarus appeared, taking Yullian hostage and informing the heroes of his true motives before getting Belial and Tregear to fire their beams at them all. The group also received word from Ultraman Hikari that Genegarg had stolen a Z Riser and Ultra Medals from the Land of Light, causing Z to fly off in a hurry while Zero followed him. The Ultra League and the Tri-Squad prepare to recruit more heroes for the upcoming fight against The Kingdom.
Immediately from regrouping in the Land of Light after returning from the Ultra League's fight on Planet Ebil, Ribut rejoined the Inter Galactic Defense Force under the Father of Ultra's command to assist their forces for battle against The Kingdom.
Ribut was then contacted by Sora, who told him to go to Planet Babel to help the Ultra Force repel Absolute Titan, who was there looking for Ultraman Noa. During Ribut's fight with Titan, Noa's light suddenly emerged from the ruins, manifesting as Ultraman Nexus, who attacked both Ribut and Titan before he changed into Junis to open his Meta Field, trapping the two of them within it, leading them to speculate that Nexus' defensive instincts have gone out of control. Within the Meta Field, Ribut could feel his energy draining away, further worsening their condition.
With no other option, the two became reluctant allies with a common enemy to try and escape Nexus' power. Sora managed to inform them the disabling the Armed Nexus would cut off the Meta Field, leading to the two managing to escape. Noa appeared to the two of them in the mental world, revealing that he was not out of control but rather forcing them to prove that Ultras and Absolutians can coexist. In the aftermath of their battle, Ribut proposed to make peace between them, but Titan retreated back to the Kingdom saying that they would still be enemies the next time they meet. By now, Ribut was already low on energy.
Absolute Tartarus appeared and summoned many Absolutian soldiers and an Ultroid Zero, but Ribut was too weak to fight now. Nexus appeared again, this time as Junis Blue, and fought against Ultroid Zero, protecting Ribut before he changed into his true form of Noa and finished the battle, just as Ribut's energy ran out. His lifeless body was brought back to the Land of Light, where he was revived by Mother of Ultra in Ultra Clinic 78.
After the rescue team had managed to secure Yullian and Ultraman Regulos from their imprisonment, they were sent to Planet Blizzard where a large gathering of Ultras were awaiting, just as the Absolutians pursued them. Titan fought Ribut once again until Titan decided to postpone their battle, returning to the Central Planet after Ribut had once more spoken of coexistence.
At the climax of the battle, Tartarus was overwhelmed by Zero with his new abilities. He decided to unleash his Absolute Maximum Destruction on the planet, but it was blocked by a barrier from Ultraman King, creating a wormhole from the impact. Ultraman Ribut created his own barrier to protect the other Ultras present, but he and Tartarus fell through the wormhole and into Ultraman Trigger's universe as a result.
Ultraman Ribut chased down the Absolutians to Ultraman Trigger's Earth, before losing track of them. He then reappeared and helped Ultraman Trigger fight against Absolute Diavolo, managing to counter the Absolutian with his greater speed and blocking his attacks using the Ribut Blocker for long enough to allow Trigger to retreat. With Ribut now facing Diavolo alone, he went on the offensive, summoning his Spreader Rod and using it to great effect, holding the upper hand over Diavolo. Before long, Absolute Tartarus appeared and stopped the fight, reminding Diavolo of their objective before leaving through another golden portal. Ribut changed into a human form and went to meet with Kengo Manaka and Yuna Shizuma.
Ribut decided to train Kengo so that he can learn to control Glitter Trigger Eternity's power, with Yuna taking part as well so that she can learn to face her destiny as Yuzare's descendant. First, Ribut sparred with Kengo, telling him that he was out of focus. He then got the two others to dance in sync with him to get them to empty their minds. When they succeeded, Ribut knocked out Kengo and got Yuna to reawaken him using Yuzare's powers. Kengo realized that while he was the incarnation of Trigger's light, he was also human, and stopped pushing himself so hard. After Diavolo appeared and had his energy drained, Trigger, Ribut and the Nursedessei, now in Battle Mode, fought against Diavolo. Trigger was now able to control the Eternity Core's power, unleashing several finishers successively on Diavolo. With the help of Ribut and GUTS-Select, Diavolo was defeated. Trigger performed the Cross Touch with Ribut, thanking him for his help and sending him off back to the Galaxy Rescue Force.
Having returned to his own universe, Ribut arrived on Planet Maijii to find a captive Sora being threatened by an Alien Zarab. Ribut engaged in combat with the alien, now in his Imitation Ultraman form, where he was easily able to defeat the threat, which in turn released Sora. After he and the other Ultras at the scene had destroyed the body of Reibatos, which held the spirit of Alien Reiblood within, he and Regulos returned to Galaxy Rescue Force HQ, telling his comrades about his experience of Trigger's Earth and formally introducing himself to the newly recruited Regulos, with the two performing the Cross Touch.
