The Locust God's History

The Locust God was one of the three gods who were imprisoned and distorted by Nicol Bolas to serve his interests during the Hour of Revelation, with the Locust's duty being to consume the Hekma and any other sources of magical power it could find. The original functions, appearances and names of these gods have been lost.

The Locust God in its original form looked over Amonkhet with its sibling deities, although its specific functions are unknown. It fought against the invading Elder Dragon, but was ultimately defeated alongside the rest. Unlike Bontu, Hazoret, Kefnet, Oketra and Rhonas, the Locust God's mind and form were drastically altered by Bolas before being sealed inside a sarcophagus underneath the Luxa to be released before Bolas's return.

After the Luxa was drained, the Locust God emerged from its sarcophagus alongside the Scorpion and Scarab Gods. They were greeted by the other Amonkhet Gods and Rhonas challenged the insectoid gods to battle, believing this to be his personal trial. The Locust and Scarab Gods both ignored this challenge and left Rhonas to face off against the Scorpion God.

The Locust God soon began releasing a seemingly infinite amount of magical locusts from its body that immediately set to work on devouring the Hekma. Kefnet initially tried to counter this effort, but was driven off by his insectoid sibling and the Hekma collapsed. Hazoret would attempt to confront the Locust God upon the God-Pharoah's throne, but she was driven off as well. With the deaths of all the gods but Hazoret and the defeat of the Gatewatch, the Locust God continued its work unhindered.

During the War of the Spark, a group of planeswalkers arrived on Amonkhet to seek the aid of Hazoret only to find the Locust and Scarab gods still active. They were then driven to seek shelter under the small shelter that Hazoret's own personal Hekma offered before leaving the plane after obtaining her spear.
