Thamiel

Thamiel's History

Thamiel is the Left Hand of God, a facet of His that personifies the abstract concept of evil, and exists as the lord of all demons and ruler of Hell, where he takes sick delight in viciously tormenting damned souls in the most horrible manners for all eternity. His existence was initially not known to the angels of Heaven, until Sataniel carved deep into the Earth, and within its center encountered Thamiel's grim realm. Due to his fundamentally gullible and naïve psychology, Sataniel was easily swayed by the Demon Lord's unorthodox teachings, and eventually spread them upon a third of the heavenly host, causing them to abandon their usual state-of-affairs (which consisted mostly of endlessly praising God) and fall from grace entirely.

Eventually, the Archangels declared war upon Thamiel and his hordes of demons, but given their complete obliviousness in regards to basic concepts such as lies and stratagems, were easily defeated, with the Archangel Michael being permanently killed in combat, and Gabriel and Uriel left as the last remaining Archangels after forty years of war. However, Thamiel's imminent victory came to an abrupt end as Uriel rewrote the fundamental laws of reality, converting the universe into a mathematical framework that did not need the light of God or any supernatural elements. Being inherently magical in nature, Thamiel did not endure the world-changing transition, and although he didn't truly die, he was transformed into a metaphor, incapable of affecting the world in any meaningful way.

This was undone, however, when the Apollo 8 crashed into the crystal sphere surrounding the planet in 1969, and caused divine light to suffuse itself back into the universe, resulting in the partial return of the supernatural. Thamiel managed to manifest himself in a weakened state, reforming his hosts of demons and moving on to conquer the world, though in far more subtle ways, this time around.
