Superior's History
Anton Ivanov (Russian: Антон Иванов) was the Watchdogs' leader, and former member of the SVR, who sought his revenge against
Phil Coulson for causing the deaths of his former units, and for being an alleged root for Earth's extraterrestrial problems. Known to all of his subordinates as the Superior, he had orchestrated the Anti-Inhuman Movement, in order to attack and kill Inhumans across several cities. During his conflicts against S.H.I.E.L.D., he was crippled by
Quake, and his head was severed by
Aida and placed into a jar, but he was able to remotely control his numerous robotic duplicates of himself while also protecting the Framework. Despite serving Aida's instructions to not kill the agents, Superior had then tried to use the Darkhold's wisdom to create a new world in which all the Inhumans were feared by the world. However, Superior's schemes were stopped by the combined efforts of S.H.I.E.L.D. and
Ghost Rider, since they destroyed Superior's robotic bodies and killed Aida, although Superior was able to escape.
Six months after S.H.I.E.L.D.'s disbandment, Superior's head was acquired by General Hale, who used it to force him to serve HYDRA to combat another impending alien invasion, which put Superior back in conflict with Coulson who did not trust Hale's intentions. Now lacking his abilities to create more Life-Model Decoys for himself, after Aida's demise, Superior had instead created Sleeper Mechs under his control to aid in Hale's agendas. Superior's desire to find and test the Particle Infusion Chamber on himself had led him to personally search for it, as he also attached his human head to a robotic body, putting him at great risk. However, that turned out to be a fatal mistake as his duel against
Yo-Yo Rodriguez resulted in Superior losing his final life.
