Spectacular Spider-Man

Peter Parker

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Reality

Spectacular Spider-Man's History

Peter Parker AKA Spider-Man is the primary protagonist of The Spectacular Spider-Man. During a field trip in high school student, he was bitten by a radioactive spider. Seeing as he had attained immense power, Peter entered a cage match against Crusher Hogan, in which he was promised $1,000 should he win. Unsurprisingly, Parker won the match, but was denied the full prize money due to his refusal to sign onto a management contract. Frustrated at his wasted efforts, he purposefully let a criminal by the name of Walter Hardy pass by when the latter stole the cash kept at the wrestling stadium. Peter would come to realize the magnitude of his actions when his Uncle Ben was murdered following this event. Upon tracking down the killer, it was revealed to be Walter Hardy, the man he could have easily stopped. Realizing his terrible error, Peter went on to fight crime under the alias of Spider-Man, operating by Ben's principle of "With great power, there must also come great responsibility".

Originally, Spider-Man's status was that of a myth, in which he would catch several criminals yet have an unconfirmed existence as far as the public knew. This soon changed after his encounter with Vulture, where Parker stopped the supervillain and saved Norman Osborn. From that point on, he would fight numerous more malicious individuals and groups.

Later, during a battle with one of his villains, Spider-Man would suffer another close loss, that being the death of Captain George Stacy, who was said to have died in a heroic fashion. Following this, Peter was recruited into the Spider-Society by Miguel O'Hara, aiding other Spider-People in response to dimensional anomalies.
