Skullcrawler's History

Skullcrawlers are a species of carnivorous kaiju that took up residence within the tunnels leading to the Hollow Earth under Skull Island. The smallest examples are 12 feet (3.6 meters) tall and can range up to 95 feet (29 meters) tall as was seen with the Skull Devil and Number 10.

They were awakened from their slumber in 1973 by the Monarch expedition to Skull Island and went on a brief rampage, slaughtering every animal they could find. They would be suppressed temporarily due to Kong's efforts. Until 2019, the Skullcrawlers were mostly forced to keep their attacks small in scope. However, with King Ghidorah's rise, the Skull Crawlers attempted to obey the temporary alpha's call to wreak havoc, but were again stopped by the fully mature Kong from escaping the island.

The current fate of the Skullcrawler species is unknown, as the sinking of Skull Island left them without their primary habitat. However, Apex Cybernetics had been breeding Skullcrawlers for testing purposes, so there may still be specimens stowed away in hidden facilities across the world.
