Rogue's History

Irene was the daughter of Gambit and Rogue, both of whom were among the heroes who survived the cataclysm that scorched the Earth and went underground to escape the lethal radiation. Irene, who inherited both her mother's unusual hair color and her father's red eyes, was born and spent her entire life in an underground facility located under New York City. By 2051 A.D., Irene's parents were no longer around and she also went by Rogue in honor of her mother.

Following Captain Marvel's sacrifice to restart the Sun, the survivors had started regaining the surface. They also learned of the existence of other groups of survivors, namely one led by Ove. After Molly's group came across a time-displaced younger Captain Marvel, plucked from the timeline of Earth-616 due to the machinations of Ove, he sent a mind-controlled Luke Cage to deliver an invite to his haven, New Atlantis. Rogue was one of the survivors tasked by Captain Marvel with staying at their quarters in case the invitation was meant to lure away the survivors from their base. Following Ove's departure to the past and the liberation of New Atlantis, the rest of the survivors moved there and Captain Marvel was sent back to her time.
