Ransom's History

Valentin Correa was born in Buenos Aires to wealthy parents. The nurses who attended to him when he was born quickly discovered that he had no heartbeat and even no heart at all and immediately concluded that he is a mutant. Ashamed of him being a mutant, he was abandoned as a child by his parents after being kidnapped and held for ransom. The kidnappers tried to kill him, shooting him fourteen times, but the bullets only made him strong. After killing his kidnappers, with his newly-manifested power, Valentin escaped and began to live on his own, choosing Ransom as his mutant name.

Ending up in the United States of America under unknown circumstances, Valentin was pursued by a monstrous creature called the Hag alongside three other young mutants, which prompted the group to seek the X-Men's help. After engaging in a brief fight against the X-Men over a misunderstanding, Ransom and the other Outliers were taken in as their new students.
