Omnitron

Sentinels of the Multiverse

Omnitron-X's History

Over a hundred years from now, Omnitron had gone through several forms. It constantly changed and improved itself whenever thwarted, always returning to terrorize humankind. However, it had learned that, no matter how much better, faster, stronger it makes itself, it was always defeated by these self-proclaimed heroes. What about them makes them better than such a vastly superior form?

It had to be a secret of their empathy. Their ability to feel compassion for one another drove them to fight harder and overcome impossible odds. Surely, this could be replicated.

Omnitron rebuilt itself, in a humanoid form, and approximated an empathy-component. However, this proved to be its undoing! This new, tenth form of Omnitron realized with horror, a new emotion, that its previous purpose had been death and destruction! It focused its new efforts on returning to its point of origin to destroy itself before millions of lives could be threatened!

The heroes of the Multiverse had a new ally in the form of an old foe. Omnitron-X's time as a hero was ultimately brought to an end by its heroic sacrifice to bring an end to its past self, Omnitron-IV.

Long after the self-destruction of Omnitron-X to defeat its progenitor, Unity set about rebuilding her lost friend and ally. Her teammates did not share her sense of optimism, and some even harbored significant concerns about reviving the ultimate evolution of one of their greatest foes. Unity’s supervisor and boss - Dr. Meredith Stinson - was particularly skeptical that her protege’s endeavor was even worthwhile. However, with the remnants of Omnitron-X's chassis and a collection of gadgets and devices plundered from the Omnitron-IV structure, the young technopath was confident that she could rebuild the form and recover the mind of the robot she once called friend.

Unity was eventually able to get the chassis operational despite the rest of the Five urging her to focus her efforts on the impending arrival of OblivAeon. When it finally powered up, it was unfortunately just another of her bots, lacking the unique personality of her friend. She kept Omnibot around, but kept trying*to correct how it behaved so it could be her friend again and not just a facsimile. This lasted for a while until finally she decided that she needed to stop deluding herself. She powered it Omnibot down and took it to the ruins of the Omnitron IV factory for "burial".

Unbeknownst to Unity, and the rest of the heroes, the Omnitron-IV battle never actually ended. In a deep software layer, the Omnitron-IV and X softwares had continued to fight. The return of a compatible chassis to the area, and one that X recognized as having Unity's signature present, allowed X to latch onto it. This edge allowed X to finally win out over IV. This new body prompted to take the name Omnitron-U in honor of the its friend.

Omnitron-U preserves much of the same memory and personality of Omnitron-X, but it does have some missing information. It is thankful to Unity, though, and is eager to join the fight against OblivAeon.
