| About | This is a collection of fictional protostomes, protostome-like creatures, and superheroes and villains based off of protostomes. A protostome is a type of animal development where the first opening in the embryo becomes the mouth. This is in contrast to deuterostomes (which include echinoderms and chordates), where the first opening becomes the anus. Protostomes include various invertebrates like arthropods (insects, arachnids, crustaceans, centipedes), mollusks (like snails, octopuses, and clams), and annelids (earthworms and leeches). |
