Kefnet's History

Kefnet was the ibis-headed Amonkhet god of knowledge. He lost his physical life during the coming of the God-Pharoah.

Kefnet and his sibling deities looked over the plane of Amonkhet until the day of Nicol Bolas's arrival. Despite their best efforts and fierce resistance, Kefnet fell to the might of the Elder Dragon and was rewritten alongside the soul of the plane to serve Bolas's ambitions.

With his ibis head and glorious wings, he represented intellect and the magic of the mind. Kefnet oversaw the Trial of Knowledge (the second trial) and judged worthiness based on mental prowess. He believed that knowledge is power and his greatest weapon was his mental acumen and magical ability. Kefnet was also the god who was responsible for the maintenance of the Hekma, drawing power from the Luxa to maintain its water.

During the Hour of Promise, Kefnet witnessed the emergence of his twisted brethren. He initially sought to prevent the destruction of the Hekma by the Locust God, but he abandoned this when Rhonas fell to the Scorpion God. He aided his sister Oketra in fighting this monstrous god and the pair appeared to be getting the upper hand due to their teamwork. This advantage quickly disappeared once Kefnet was hit by the Scorpion God's stinger. He quickly found his body slowing and he was grabbed by his monstrous brother and stabbed through the head, ending his physical life.

Kefnet's broken form would be retrieved by Bolas and converted into a God-Eternal.
