John Garrett's History

Jonathan "John" Garrett was a turncoat S.H.I.E.L.D. agent who joined HYDRA after being refused aid by S.H.I.E.L.D. when he was injured during a mission in Sarajevo. He survived his injury by becoming the first subject of Project Deathlok. While maintaining his cover as a loyal S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, he used his own Level 7 clearance to give himself the moniker of the Clairvoyant, the mastermind behind the Centipede Project. During his time as an agent, he recruited Grant Ward into HYDRA and became a fatherly figure to him. During the HYDRA Uprising, Garrett revealed his betrayal, fled S.H.I.E.L.D., and then restarted the Centipede Project intending to recreate the life-saving drug of GH.325, which he desperately needed to heal his failing organs. He attempted to use the knowledge given to him by the drug to take over the world but was stopped by Phil Coulson, Deathlok, and Nick Fury in the Battle at Cybertek, and was subsequently vaporized by Coulson with the Peruvian 0-8-4.
