Isla Nublar is a relatively small island approximately 40 minutes by helicopter from the capital of Costa Rica, San José. The Island is 8 miles long and 3 miles wide at the widest point, in total some 22 square miles. Along the south side of the island are natural steam vents indicating the continuing volcanic activity.
