Harpoon's powers and abilities

Powers/Abilities: Harpoon is a mutant with the superhuman power to transform longitudinal objects into various unknown forms of energy. He can imbue any such object with this energy, but the amount of energy varies with the size of the object. Hence, a pencil that he imbued with energry would cause very little damage, but a telephone pole imbued with his energy might be as destructive as a small tactical nuclear weapon. Harpoon must throw the object in order to transform it into energy. Harpoon prefers to imbue harpoons with energy, since he finds them the easiest weapons to use in this way. They are large enough to cause considerable damage, but are light enough for him to throw them easily and to carry them comfortably in his backpack. It is not yet known whether Harpoon's powers can turn objects that are not longitudinal in shape into energy. Depending on the form of energy with which he imbues them, Harpoon's weapons can stun, paralyze, kill, explode, or disintegrate a living victim or inanimate target. Beings with sufficient superhuman strength such as Colossus, can survive the effects of one of the harpoons that Harpoon has imbued with energy for killing an opponent (a "slayspear") without disintegrating him. Harpoon is a formidable hand-to-hand combatant. He is highly skilled at hurling his chosen weapon, the harpoon, and almost never misses. He refers to his harpoons as "slayspears". Harpoon has repeatedly fallen in battle. Each time, he has been cloned and revived by Mr. Sinister. Harpoon appears aware of this fact.
