Emrakul

Emrakul's History

Emrakul is one of the three Eldrazi Titans, alongside her brothers, Kozilek and Ulamog (it should be noted that Eldrazi are technically genderless, but have specific genders attached to them). Born in The Blind Eternities, the Eldrazi exist to drain planes of their mana and then return what's left to the Eternities. Each Titan possesses power far in excess of even pre-mending planeswalkers and are a force to be reckoned with.

Prior to the mending, a group of three planeswalkers (Nahiri, Sorin Markov and Ugin) lured the Titans to the mana rich plane of Zendikar and used a combination of the plane's immeasurable supply of mana and newly constructed hedrons to seal the Titans into the very essence of the plane.

This plane, however would be foiled by the machinations of Nicol Bolas, who arranged for the seal on the Titans to be broken and the siblings released after thousands of years. The Titans would begin to ravage Zendikar, despite the best efforts of the planeswalkers that assembled on the planet to stop them. However, while her brothers were fighting the Gatewatch on Zendikar, Emrakul was drawn to Innistrad. There she corrupted the denizens and nearly destroyed the plane before she decided to allow her imprisonment inside the moon.

Whether or not Emrakul will emerge from her imprisonment is currently unknown, but she went willingly and it can be assumed she can leave willingly as well.
