Dragonlord Placidusax's History

In the prehistoric era before the Age of the Erdtree, the Lands Between was ruled by the ancient dragons. Dragonlord Placidusax, a massive four-headed dragon, was the lord and ruler of the dragons as the Elden Lord seated in Farum Azula. Under Placidusax's rule, the dragons served an outer god distinct from the Greater Will. However, this dragon god eventually fled, abandoning the dragons. Placidusax remained loyal and continued awaiting the return of his god even after being deposed. The Greater Will then gained dominion over the Lands Between and established the Golden Order. It chose Marika as the new Elden Lord and vessel of the Elden Ring. The Golden Order and Marika waged war against the ancient dragons, eventually defeating them. Placidusax was forced into exile after his defeat. He withdrew to Crumbling Farum Azula, which became a mausoleum sheltering him. In his absence, Farum Azula and the descendants of the ancient dragons fell into decline.A Tarnished later discovers Placidusax at the heart of the time-twisted storm beyond Farum Azula. Though greatly weakened, Placidusax battles the Tarnished to guard his exalted remains, now missing heads and wings. He is slain in combat, still awaiting a reunion with his missing god. Placidusax was thus the ancient lord of the dragons and the first known Elden Lord, before being deposed by Marika and the Golden Order during their war against the dragons. He remained in exile in Farum Azula until confronted by the Tarnished.
