Doc Dread's History

Java is a prehistoric caveman that was frozen in ice and revived in the present day to act as the righthand man of the morally corrupt industrialist Simon Stagg. Java would pursue a criminal career of his own, becoming the leader of the The Dreadfuls as Doc Dread.

Java was a caveman, living life in a time before proper civilization over 60,000 years ago. A notable hunter and leader, he had the misfortune of being born a Neanderthal in an era where Homo sapiens was on the rise. As his people were driven further and further to the fringes of habitable land by the newcomers, his tribe came under attack by a pack of wolves. Realizing there were too many to fight, Java sacrificed himself by destroying the ice floe the wolves stood on, submerging him and the pack in the freezing river.

Thousands of years later, Java's body was found in the ice and experimented on. Successfully revived and enhanced to the intelligence of a baseline human by Stagg Enterprises, Java became the head of security for the corporation.
