Destoroyah's History

Destoroyah was a powerful crustacean-like kaiju that was often controlled by malicious forces.

Destoroyah was a biological weapon created by the undersea-dwelling Devonian aliens to aid in their war with humanity. A juvenile Destoroyah's leg fell off of Zilla in Honolulu after his battle with Godzilla. Numerous juvenile Destoroyahs later swarmed San Diego, but retreated to the sea after Steven Woods and his fellow CKR soldiers discovered that a cryogenic weapon named the "ice-box" was very effective against them. After Godzilla suddenly washed ashore severely wounded with a slash wound in his chest, the final Perfect Form of Destoroyah rose from the sea to finish him. Before Destoroyah could kill the weakened Godzilla, Mothra and her twin larvae arrived to help Godzilla. After Destoroyah seriously wounded the adult Mothra, the larvae encased him in a silken cocoon and allowed Godzilla to incinerate him with his atomic breath.

Destoroyah recovered from his last defeat and was summoned by the Devonians to defend their capital from Godzilla alongside Manda, Gezora, and Titanosaurus. After retreating from the battle with Godzilla, Destoroyah attacked a CKR naval fleet assembled in the area. With Mechagodzilla's pilot killed during the battle, Jet Jaguar took command of the mecha and utilized its Absolute Zero Cannon to completely freeze Destoroyah solid, either killing him or weakening him enough to permanently remove him from the battle.

In the Cataclysm continuity, Destoroyah emerged from Tokyo Bay. Hiroshi was terrified by the monster's appearance and identifies Destoroyah only as "his demon." Destoroyah split apart into its aggregate forms and hunted down and brutally killed the villagers one-by-one, either by disintegrating them with his micro-oxygen rays or tearing them apart with his claws. Hiroshi fell on his knees and prayed to Godzilla to arrive and vanquish the demon, but was impaled in the chest by an aggregate Destoroyah's claw, leaving him dying of blood loss and Biollante's core on the ground. Godzilla did arrive, and the Destoroyahs quickly merged together into a flying form. Destoroyah dragged Godzilla into Tokyo with its tail, then flew by Godzilla and sliced him with his laser horn katana and blasted him with micro-oxygen. Mothra, despite having been seriously wounded by Godzilla earlier, arrived to help battle Destoroyah. Destoroyah reformed into its final form, and blasted Mothra with his micro-oxygen beam, causing her to be disintegrated and burst in a flash of fiery light. Godzilla blasted Destoroyah in the back of the head with his atomic breath knocking the evil creature to the ground. Before Destoroyah could stand back up, he was restrained by Biollante's vines that suddenly erupted from the ground. With Destoroyah helpless, Godzilla blasted its head off with a blast of his spiral red heat beam, killing Destoroyah.
