Deathdream's powers and abilities

• Death State: Deathdream's mutant power allows him to choose between a state of life or one of death at will.
  
  
• Necromancy: While in his undead state, Deathdream becomes deeply connected with the spirit world, enabling him to summon the souls and powers of the deceased.
  
  
• Soul Manipulation: By summoning the souls/spirits of the dead and letting them possess him, Hotoru can manipulate and use the powers of the deceased in a variety of ways, including being able to use these souls to generate a dark-shadowy aura around himself that can create tendrils to ensnare others.
  
  
• Flight: Hotoru can use the souls he has summoned to fly.
  
  
• Contaminant Immunity: Hotoru is resistant to poisons and toxins, as he is able to drink arsenic without any ill effects.
  
  

Deathdream's weaknesses

• Power Instability: While possessed by the spirits he has summoned, Hotoru becomes violent and unstable.
