Danitha Capashen's History
Danitha Capashen is a distant relative of
Gerrard Capashen and the current head of House Capashen, the highest house of Benalia. She is a Benalish Knight with a warrior bearing, but a calm character, which greatly contrasts her scholarly mage brother.
Danitha was trained from a young age in both diplomacy and swordplay, quickly rising through the ranks of the Benalish military due to a combination of her own talent and the legacy she carries with her. When
Jhoira offered her a position on the newly rebuilt Weatherlight, Danitha quickly refused the offer and let Raf take her place as the representative of the Capashen blood line. As leader of the Benalish army, Danitha felt her efforts were better focused on defending Benalia from Josu Vess and the Cabal.
In a battle with Josu at the Blighted Fields in Korlich Pass, Josu struck her with Whisper's blade. She and her brother Rafwyn Capashen both began to feel the effects of the Legacy Curse. In her weakness, she was confined to the city, but continued to oversee military operations. After the eventual defeat of Whisper and destruction of Josu, Raf was able to use Whisper's dagger to break the curse afflicting the Capashen bloodline.
Danitha would spend the next few years after the defeat of the Cabal strengthening the Benalish military until the Second Invasion kicked off. When Danitha and Raff's father was captured by the Phyrexians, she led the effort to rescue him with
Jaya Ballard and
Ajani Goldmane. The battle against
Ertai's minions initially looked promising until the Phyrexian released both a massive horror and a terrifying revelation: a compleated Aron. Ertai had compleated Aron long before Danitha's with the intention of using him to break Benalia, but this only worked to stoke her resolve. Danitha killed her beloved father herself and assumed the leadership role of House Capashen. She was present alongside her Benalish knights at the Battle of the Mana Rig and oversaw the withdrawal of her nation's forces after the Phyrexians had accomplished their goals of neutralizing
Karn and the Golgothan Sylex.
