Richard Pondexter lived a simple life working construction for T.I.S.D. with his adopted brother Deron. But one fateful day while on the job he got a call from his brother that their father, Kenith Pondexter has passed away. He immediatly called work off that day but didn't have a chance to even get into his car. A little fiery demon jumped on him and fused with him. The demon introduced itself as Pyron and told him his reasoning for fusing with him. Pyron had escaped from a prison located in hell after being sent there for defying The Dark One. Shocked and confused Richard fell to the ground and sat there for quite a while. After being informed further, Pyron told him that there would be demon bounty hunters out to kill him and Richard. After questioning Pyron why he drug him into this he responded by saying he has enough power to defeat them he just lacked a host. Richard then asked why should I help you, Pyron told him he could free his adopted father Kenith's soul. He did not die but had his soul imprisoned by The Dark One, apperently Kenith was one of The Holy One's top angles and the strongest of all of them even killing the greatly wounding the original Grim Reaper, and it was because of that reason he was imprisoned. They made the agreement and from it, the Crimson Crusader was born.
