Bonsai Master's History

Ichiro Hazaki, better known as the Bonsai Master, was an influential Japanese political figure. He sought to control the future of Japan by backing both leading candidates for the post of Prime Minister, Itaru Ozu, and Shinji Yokohama, while keeping the secret from both of them. Shinji asked the Bonsai Master to get rid of his candidate Ken Takahara, whose platform was too progressive and threatened the traditional ways.

The Bonsai Master hired the Rooster of the Yakuza to arrange the hit and tasked General Kato with getting rid of the hitman at the same time. The men sent by the General were eventually found dead, as was another group sent in their wake. Panicking about his fate, Kato went to talk to the Bonsai Master, who assured him that the situation was under control.

On the night of the election, the Bonsai Master was targeted by Hit-Monkey. The Monkey went through the Bonsai Master's security forces before eventually confronting him in a katana duel. The Bonsai Master managed to inflict several surface wounds, but the Monkey ended up beating him. Shamed by defeat, the Bonsai Master committed seppuku.
