Birdy

Birdy's History

Birdy was a mutant and, for a time, the partner of Sabretooth. She used her telepathy to help keep him calm by temporarily soothing his homicidal rages (an effect referred to as "the glow") which led Sabretooth to become dependent on her. She accompanied Sabretooth while he searched for answers on who was trying to kill him. Their search led them to Sabretooth's son, Graydon Creed, who later stabbed Birdy to death. Without Birdy's telepathic suppression, Sabretooth was left unchecked and went on a killing spree. During the time when Sabretooth's mind was reduced to a child-like state he was reminded of Birdy while he was in the X-mansion. Her death brought Sabretooth much pain while he was in that state.

Many years later, following the foundation of a mutant state in Krakoa, Birdy was one of countless dead mutants resurrected by The Five. She subsequently joined Nightcrawler's team. Birdy was part of a special team as a member of the Marauders. The team saved the workers at an oil rig and fixed the environmental damage after the rogue X-Men Green team attacked them. Birdy also provided counseling to fellow mutants after being visited and "judged" by the Celestial, The Progenitor, during Judgement Day.
