Berserker Of Red's powers and abilities
Since Spartacus unified the rebel army that was just a simple gathering and attained successive victories over the powerful Roman Army, it is thought that his popularity and abilities as a war commander were excellent. But before all that, the main reason why he collected popularity was due being a hero that "always won by reversal", symbolized by his Noble Phantasm. For the soldiers of the rebel army, the more hopeless the progress of battle was, the more certain the victory beyond that became. He himself is not aware of this, but this reversal strategy conforms with the principles of showmanship and made him extraordinarily popular as a gladiator.[4] Taking no measure to avoid attacks and even seeming to leap into their paths, he takes all strikes while only growing more battle-lusted by the second. Attacks coming at him do not bring fear, but rather joy in that the more intense the strike, the deeper the despair it causes him, the more pleasurable his own counterattack will become even should he be run through by the enemy's attack. It is evident that his fists themselves contain quite some power. Shirou Kotomine notes that whether or not Atalanta can stop him may as well be decided by a flip of a coin.[23] In fact, stopping Spartacus calls for two Servants at the very least. Vlad III was able to restrain him with Kazikli Bey.[7]
The leather around his waist and between his legs are not protection in the least and he has nothing covering his pectorals, but it can be said that his flesh is not something meant to be contained within armor. The immensity of his mass makes it unnecessary to protect, shown by the countless scars that make it obvious that not one of those wounds had truly "pierced" him in life. Like taking a paring knife to a ball of metal, his body is a steel mass that may be cut, even drawing blood, but goes no further. With arms the "size of crocodiles" and legs that trudge with the force of mammoths, it is clear that his body's toughness is virtually armor in itself.
Berserker fights with his gladiusWP sword, fists, and grappling techniques, focusing only on his power in which he takes much pride. He proceeds into battle without the need for technique or proper judgement of the situation, allowing him to be thought of as a walking disaster in battle and causing every slash and punch to leave corpses behind him. His strength is great enough to be able to take down a Servant of lesser physical ability with a single strike and blow them back with the force of the swing even if they should avoid it, and he is much more nimble than his appearance would suggest, charging like a raging boar into battle. He throws enemies, cleaves them with his sword in wide, powerful arcs, suplexes multiple enemies at once, and tears his enemies limb from limb.
Skills
Class Skills
Mad Enhancement (EX Rank): Although Spartacus appears at first glance to have a low rank of Mad Enhancement due to his ability to speak, he is actually an irregularity far from the normal understanding of a Berserker. He is an uncontrollable Berserker with ranked-up parameters and loss of most reason.[1][2][4] Even while under Mad Enhancement, Spartacus can normally speak things such as "Those who are bound are strong! For until the time when they are set free, anger and sadness will continue to be accumulated."[4] However, because he is fixated with thoughts of "always making the most difficult choices", he never listens to what people have to say. In practice, it is impossible to come to a mutual understanding of intentions with him. Spartacus is indeed an uncontrollable Berserker.[1][2][4][5] Once he has set his objective, he will not change his mind at all. Even if his Master expends one Command Spell, it will only weigh him down and delay the inevitable.[7][23] In order to stop him, two Command Spells would be required.[7]
Personal Skills
Honor of Suffering (B Rank): When Spartacus's body takes damage, the Magical Energy cost necessary to heal his injuries with magecraft is reduced to one fourth of how much it would normally take.[1][2][4] Furthermore, even without the use of magecraft, the wound will automatically proceed to be healed after a certain amount of time.[1][2] In truth, the pain inflicted heightens his combat focus, allowing him to tap into his full potential; by corollary, if he is not injured, he cannot fight at full strength. The notion that "one must first conquer the pain inflicted by the enemy to attain absolute victory" is a fundamental premise of Spartacus' tactics.[4]
Unyielding Will (A Rank): Spartacus possesses an exceedingly firm will that will never, ever yield against any kind of pain, despair, or situation. In other words, he possesses a resistance against physical and mental damage. However, said resistance does not hold against illusion sorts of attacks induced by others. For example, there would be resistance against damage from “falling to a pitfall”, but there would be none against “an illusion that makes the pitfall looks like the ground”.[2] Although Astolfo was able to cleanly avoid his attacks and destroy one of his legs with Trap of Argalia, Spartacus still dragged himself on to defeat his opponent.[7]
Noble Phantasm
Spartacus's Noble Phantasm is Crying Warmonger. A continuously activated type Noble Phantasm that converts all the damage inflicted by the opponent into Magical Energy that is accumulated in his body to boost or heal himself.[1][2][4][5][24] As such, the longer a battle is prolonged, the more advantageous it is for Spartacus.[24] The only way to beat him is to strike him with a mighty Noble Phantasm in a short decisive battle.[7][24] Although Mordred was convinced that she would be able to stop Spartacus from marching to the Chinese Lostbelt's capital by targeting his knees, even with Jing Ke's help, they were unable to subdue him because he kept getting stronger.[21]
Although the servants aiding Chaldea in the Chinese Lostblet would normally not have any way to defend against or destroy something as utterly destructive as Qin Shi Huang's meteor, Spartacus is able to vaporize it thanks to this Noble Phantasm, which changes to match what he’s up against. The more powerful the attack, the stronger Spartacus's counterattack will be. Boosted by a Command Spell ordering him to "Jump", Spartacus destroys the meteor before it hits the ground while having his Spirit Origin completely annihilated in the process.[21]
Against strong Servants and such, if the accumulated magical power is in large quantities, it will ultimately lead to a transformation of the flesh.[1][2][5] During the Great Holy Grail War, perhaps due to his connection to the present world, or his line being complex, the Noble Phantasm’s conversion rate went out of control and turned him into something unbelievable.[24] If he is damaged to the point of being on the verge of death, he'll release an enormous amount of magical energy that will destroy everything before Spartacus' eyes.[4] In Apocrypha, this attack was strong enough to completely destroy a giant fortress with one blow.[2]
