Basil's History

Basil is a Redguard and the leader of the Restless League, a group of pirates and freedom fighters in Hammerfell who want to restore the Redguard monarchy and reduce Imperial influence.The Restless League worked secretly for Prince A'tor of Hammerfell during the civil war between the Crowns and Forebears factions. They helped remove Forebear traitors and killed Imperial emissaries.During the Battle of Hunding Bay, Prince A'tor was mortally wounded.

The archmage Voa managed to preserve his soul in a soulgem gem. Somehow, the Restless League obtained this soulgem. Iszara joined the Restless League and helped gain their attention and support of Prince A'tor. However, she later stole the soulgem and disappeared.The player character Cyrus meets Basil to ask about Iszara's whereabouts. Basil does not know where she went after taking the soulgem.Basil gives Cyrus a key to Iszara's lodge, hoping he can find clues there. He promises to share what he knows if Cyrus can read Iszara's journal.After the rituals to revive Prince A'tor with the soulgem fail, Basil nearly abandons the cause but is convinced by Cyrus to attack Imperial forces in Stros M'kai as a diversion.In the end, Basil and the Restless League help restore Old Quarter and support Iszara's rule in Stros M'kai as a Captain under her leadership.
