Aralor's History

Aralor was originally a Dunmer (Dark Elf) from Vvardenfell who lived a life of crime. He was eventually condemned and sentenced as a criminal. However, Aralor repented for his sins. He undertook a journey of penance by making pilgrimages across Vvardenfell on his knees as an act of penance and repentance.

This showed that through true repentance, even a criminal can redeem themselves. Aralor's journey served as an example for others that anyone is capable of changing their ways. Due to his pious acts of repentance, Aralor was later canonized as a saint by the Tribunal Temple, the main religious institution of Dunmer culture. He became the patron saint of tanners and miners.

Shrines were built in his honor inside Tribunal Temples across Vvardenfell. Offerings made at his shrine could cure diseases and grant blessings. One of his most famous relics was his hair shirt, worn during his pilgrimages, which was highly revered. Even after his death, Aralor continued to serve as a symbol of redemption for Dunmer religion. His story showed that through genuine repentance of one's sins, even the worst of sinners could earn forgiveness and sainthood in the eyes of the Tribunal faith.
