{ Tolkien understood Eru Ilúvatar more as a name for the true God within the fictional context , not as a fictional deity himself. Eru represented the God above and beyond the mythology, not being contained within the fiction. While fictional languages and names were used, Eru wasn't wholly part of the fictional world, but a real-world theological reflection within it. In letter 153 pp. 188-189, Tolkien defended using aspects of Eru/God that weren't strictly orthodox, saying myth in subcreation has the liberty to explore God's "potential variety".He viewed subcreation as paying "tribute to the infinity of [God's] potential variety", not being limited only to what is known of God from scripture.}

just keep in mind that there are many fictional beings who claim/asserting to be like omnipotent beings but that turns out to be hyperbole/exaggeration anyway but as for Eru illuvatar he is a monotheistic deity with Great infinite or unlimited power which is eternally unmatched and unsurpassed in any way. and it has no clear anti-Feats and Retroactive continuity for it. In fact Eru illuvatar is omnipotent without (a) doubt.
